Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take my insurance?

We accept a variety of dental insurance plans and electronically file all claims as a courtesy to our patients. If you have questions about your coverage or our financial policies, please call us or bring your policy to your appointment. We’ll be happy to answer your questions and review your benefits.

How can I pay for my dental work?

Our office accepts cash, personal checks, American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa. Third-party financing, often with no or low interest, is available through CareCredit. Visit the CareCredit website to apply online.

I’ve been told that I grind my teeth at night? Can Dr. McCracken help?

Many sufferers of bruxism (teeth grinding) are unaware that they do it. Unconscious clenching of the jaw often occurs in response to stress, and it takes a toll on oral health. In addition to sore jaws, headaches, and earaches, tooth surface can erode and problems may arise with the jaw joints. Dr. McCracken treats bruxism with oral appliance therapy. A comfortable, easy-to-use nightguard can make all the difference! Call today to schedule an appointment with Dr. McCracken and get the relief you deserve.

My gums bleed when I brush. Is that a big deal?

Yes! Gum tissue that bleeds is a warning sign of gingivitis (early-stage periodontal disease). We’ll treat it with a deep cleaning and instruction on how to properly brush and floss at home. Left untreated, gum disease only worsens. It’s the leading cause of adult tooth loss and a contributing factor to many whole-body health problems, including stroke, heart attack, low birth weight, diabetes complications, and more. Dr. McCracken treats advanced gum disease with safe, precise laser therapy. Call today to schedule your appointment and let us get your gums healthy again.

What are my options to replace missing teeth?

We offer a variety of ways to replace missing teeth, including full dentures, partials, fixed bridges, and dental implants. Many of our patients prefer the natural look and feel of dental implants, as well as the unsurpassed durability and longevity. Make an appointment today, and we’ll work with you to determine the best way to restore your smile.

I don’t like the look of my front teeth? What can I do to make them look better?

Porcelain veneers and minimal-prep veneers do a remarkable job of transforming flawed teeth. Some patients prefer the completely custom nature of porcelain veneers, while others like the flexibility of minimal-prep veneers. Schedule a cosmetic dentistry consultation today. The doctor will discuss your expectations and lifestyle, then help you decide the type of veneer that’s right for you.
